Five Common Side Effects of Menopur Injection

Menopur Injection, like other medicines, could cause some side effects when taken. Some of them are not serious, but some are more serious and need immediate medical care. If you experience any of the following common side effects of Menopur Injection, please seek medical attention right away


This is a common side effect from Menopur 75 IU Injection. These headaches are often mild and short-lasting, usually occurring at least 24 hours after administration. It is possible that you’ll experience a headache more than once, but do not worry – it should not become chronic or severe. In most cases, it may be manageable with over-the-counter pain medications like Tylenol or Advil.


The most common side effect associated with Menopur Injection is nausea. It’s possible that you may experience mild nausea soon after taking your first injection, but if your nausea doesn’t subside or persists, contact your doctor immediately. You should also be aware that there are certain medicines that may cause severe nausea when taken in conjunction with Menopur Injection; including antidepressants, blood pressure medications and immune system suppressants.

Back Pain

Menopur injections are one of two fertility medications given to induce ovulation. In many cases, patients who use these fertility drugs experience slight discomfort and some pain in their lower backs. In most cases, back pain from menopur is nothing to worry about, but if it doesn’t go away within a few days, contact your doctor immediately. I was experiencing horrible back pain after my first month of injections and I was put on a muscle relaxer that really helped get rid of it.


In a majority of women, hormone therapy has been associated with depression and mood changes. With this said, it is still unclear how many women actually experience side effects. Menopur Injection can affect you differently than it does other women. You may also experience similar side effects or you may have some that are different from others. Talk to your doctor about any questions or concerns you have regarding these potential side effects and how they could impact your daily life.


This may be a temporary side effect and you should go to bed as soon as possible if you experience it. If dizziness is persistent, you should consult your doctor immediately.
